With AI in manufacturing, we are leveraging data combined with AI technologies at Siegwerk production sites to drive improvements in efficiency and quality.
Siegwerk Global IT is committed to driving innovation in manufacturing by leveraging AI technologies. We work closely with our process engineers to provide them with access to all relevant process data necessary for daily analysis. In addition to providing them with a standard set of analytical tools, we have also implemented automatic notifications to keep them informed of the current status of their production process parameters. As a result, we have seen an impressive 80% increase in efficiency in analyzing process data, which has led to a significant improvement in the overall quality of our production lines for inks. As we aimed to scale our analytical solutions for process engineers around the globe, we realized that the existing infrastructure was heterogeneous and unable to support our initiative to make process data and their context more transparent. To address this challenge, Global IT collaborated with OT and shop floor engineers to advance the existing infrastructure and adopt a cloud-based solution built on top of Azure services. Although we expect onboarding all production sites to take some time, the benefits of having a stable, scalable, and unified global single point of truth for process data will accelerate future AI modules to support further automation, whether it's for analysis or providing automatic feedback for production machines to adjust parameters and reach the anticipated quality.
